This is one of those conversations that might hit deep, because whether you’re reading this on a high or in the thick of the slow moments, social media can feel hard sometimes.
There are times when you’re showing up consistently, pouring your heart into it, and still…it looks like no one’s engaging. No comments, no likes. Silence. And that can feel like a punch to the gut. But I want to talk about why that moment matters, why showing up anyway, detaching from the outcome, and leading like the mentor you wish you had still makes an energetic impact.

Show Up Anyway (Even if It’s Just You)
I used to do that all the time with Facebook Lives. I don’t do them as much now, I focus more on podcast episodes, but I remember how it felt to go live and be the only one there. I still did it. Every time. Because I know for a fact that people can follow you for years before they even interact, and some people might never interact at all, but still download your freebie…or even buy from you.
Your consistency builds trust over time. And your version of consistency is allowed to be yours. If that looks like showing up three times a week, and you stay consistent with that, your people will start to notice. They’ll see that you show up. They’ll begin to expect you. Even in silence, they’re forming a relationship with your brand.
And every piece of content you create, every post, video, livestream, reel, is an energetic investment. The energy you’re in when you create matters. Are you showing up because you feel connected and excited about something you want to share? Or are you forcing it because someone told you that consistency means “posting daily or else”?
There’s a huge difference between “I’ve got to show up” energy and “I get to share this” energy. When you feel lit up about what you’re creating, that energy carries through. It lands differently.
Detach From the Outcome
Every time you create something, you’re refining your voice. You’re learning how to express, communicate, and connect more clearly. That’s worth something.
Not every action needs a like or a comment to be valuable. People might be watching without saying a word. You might never know they’re there…until they DM you, sign up for something, or refer you to someone else.
So don’t get caught up in the numbers. Don’t get discouraged by silence. Your dream clients might be silently gaining value from what you’re sharing. You’re building brand memory, even in the quiet moments.
Lead With Resilience, Authenticity, and Grace
Social media ebbs and flows. Business ebbs and flows. That’s just the nature of things. What matters is how you move through it.
Be the person who shows resilience, who stays authentic, and who brings grace to their presence, even when it’s quiet. Speak to one person, not the crowd. Picture your ideal client, and speak directly to them. That one connection is more powerful than a thousand empty likes.
It’s like when you go to a conference and a speaker makes eye contact with someone in the crowd, you feel it. That moment lands because it’s personal. That’s the kind of energy to bring into your content. Keep your mission at the center, and let it fuel your presence.
Keep Showing Up
Remember why you’re here. Even if no one is clapping right now, even if the algorithm feels like a wall, even if you’re wondering if it’s all landing, keep showing up. Detach from the outcome. Be the leader you wish you had. That’s what creates lasting connection.
