Episode 157

Lead with Heart Not Ego

This message has been brewing for a while, and if you’ve been feeling that inner pull, that sense that something’s shifting, this is the reminder you’ve been waiting for. Business, growth, and leadership aren’t always about pushing forward. Sometimes the most powerful move you can make is to let go. Sometimes it’s returning to your beginner’s heart. And sometimes it’s shifting from proving to simply standing in your truth.

In this piece, I’m exploring three connected themes. Letting go is not failure, you’re always a student, and leading with heart, not ego.

Letting Go Is Not Failure

There are times when you create an offer, have an idea, or walk a path that once felt aligned, but no longer does. That doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It simply means you’re evolving. You might’ve created a program that felt amazing when it came through. But when it comes time to launch, you look at it and something just doesn’t feel right. That’s okay. You don’t have to force it. You can put it away for now, or forever.

You might follow a mentor, or be on a path that no longer resonates. And it takes courage to say, “This isn’t for me anymore.” That is not failure. That is wisdom. Letting go might also look like releasing friendships, especially in business, when the dynamic no longer supports you. Maybe you’ve outgrown people who constantly give unsolicited advice. Letting go of those connections creates space for true support: friends who cheer you on, even if they never buy from you.

Letting go could also mean parting ways with a coach who no longer feels aligned. You’re allowed to move on. And you’re allowed to honour the season you’re in, whether it’s a season of birth, release, or rebirth. Business is cyclical. When you honour that, you’ll be amazed at how naturally flow returns.

You’re Always a Student

Stay open. That’s one of the most powerful things you can do for yourself and your business. I see myself as a lifelong student, and I love that. No matter how long you’ve been in business, there is always more to learn. The moment you believe you’ve got it all figured out, you close yourself off from growth. There’s expansion available to you every time you approach something with curiosity. So stay open, stay humble, and stay curious, your evolution depends on it.

Lead With Heart, Not Ego

Heart-led communication creates connection. Ego-led communication creates separation. When you speak from ego, especially when that ego isn’t grounded or healthy, people feel it. And often, they’ll choose not to engage. That’s not a bad thing. It’s a reminder to come back to yourself. Now, a little ego can be useful.

I let just enough of it in to remind myself:

  • I know what I’m talking about
  • I know the transformation I help clients move through
  • I know the kind of support I offer

That confidence is helpful, but it doesn’t need to take over. The most powerful place to lead from is your heart. Visualise your words flowing from your heart, through your throat, and out into the world with love. It doesn’t mean you stop being firm if that’s your natural tone, but when that firmness is wrapped in love, it lands differently.

You don’t need to prove yourself. You already know who you are, what you do, and how you support your clients. When you stop trying to prove and start simply being in your truth, your presence becomes even more magnetic.

Final Thoughts

Letting go is not failure. It’s making space for something more aligned. You are always a student, and your openness is what fuels your growth. And the more you speak and lead from your heart, not your ego, the more deeply your message will land. This is the shift you’ve been feeling. You’re not falling behind. You’re falling in.
