Business Advice Is Not One Size Fits All – BDay Fun Day 5

There’s a lot of noise out there when it comes to how you “should” do business. People will tell you their way is the best way. That if you just follow their steps, you’ll make a million dollars, hit ten figures, or unlock the magic formula. But here’s the truth. There is no one-size-fits-all business model. There is only what’s aligned for you.

I will explore why traditional business strategies often don’t work for everyone, how to recognise when something is out of alignment, and what it actually looks like to build your offers and decisions from a place of deep knowing.

Not Every Strategy Is Meant for You

We are all different. We’ve come into business for different reasons, with different goals, personalities, and experiences. And that means we’re not going to thrive using cookie-cutter strategies designed for someone else’s reality.

When you follow advice that doesn’t suit you, it’s not just ineffective, it can actually lead to burnout. And that’s why it’s so important to check in with yourself before you sign up for anything. That includes working with me. I never ask someone to sign up on the spot. I’ll say, “Here’s what we talked about. Take a moment, and if you’d like, I’ll follow up in a couple of days.” That leaves room for both of us to stay in alignment.

It’s not healthy to force a fit. I’ve had clients who weren’t aligned with me, and it wasn’t good for either of us. That’s why I always invite people to pause and check in before committing to anything new.

How to Tell When Something Isn’t Aligned

When you’re looking at a strategy, program, or offer, it’s important to ground yourself first. That means checking in mentally, emotionally, and physically. Bring your energy back into your body. Sit with your intuition. Invite the energy of your business into the space with you.

Only then will you be able to hear your own truth clearly.

When an offer is aligned, the knowing comes quickly. It might be gentle. It might be direct. But it’s clear. You might feel a full-body yes, or you might feel a calm no. Your intuition doesn’t waffle.

Sometimes it says, “Yes, but not right now.” Sometimes it says, “No, that’s not for you.” The more you practice tuning into it, the easier it becomes to recognise. And that’s what helps you move forward with trust.

Make Decisions From a Place of Inner Truth

I’m not saying I always get it right. I’ve signed up for things that, in hindsight, maybe I shouldn’t have. But even in those moments, I’ve learnt something. I never follow a strategy blindly. I take what fits, and I leave the rest.

That’s why I always remind myself—and my clients—to get into the right energetic space before making decisions. Don’t buy just because someone says their offer will work for you. Don’t sign up out of pressure or hype. Tune into your own knowing. What does your body say? What does your energy say?

The more you trust those signals, the more you’ll build a business that actually supports you.

Let Fulfilment Be Your Guide

Every time I run a program—whether it’s a group, a one-on-one session, or a course, I reflect.

I ask myself:

  • How did that feel?
  • Were people showing up and engaged?
  • Did I walk away feeling energised or drained?

Those reflections tell me everything I need to know.

Right now, I’m running a four-week group program and I absolutely love it. It leads into a three-month container that I also adore. And that’s how I know I’m doing what’s right. I feel fulfilled. I feel energised. I feel connected.

That’s why I no longer create services for “ideal clients.” I’ve tried that strategy before, and it drained me. It never felt right. Now I create programs I would want for myself. Because the version of me from a few years ago? That’s who I serve. If it lights me up, it will likely light them up too.

Final Reflections

You don’t need to follow every piece of business advice. You just need to follow what aligns with you. Tune into your body, your intuition, and your business energy. Create services you’re excited to offer. Reflect on what truly fulfills you, and let go of the rest.

Because when you trust yourself more deeply, you’ll stop chasing what isn’t right. And you’ll start creating a business that genuinely works for you.
