Understanding Boundaries in The Solar Plexus Chakra

Boundaries are something I return to again and again, not because we’re doing them wrong, but because they evolve as we do. They’re not fixed. They’re living. And when we start to explore them through the lens of the chakras, especially the Solar Plexus Chakra, we get to deepen the conversation.

I explore how boundaries live in the Solar Plexus Chakra, how they support our identity and confidence as businesswomen, and what it means to set boundaries that are both firm and flexible, because both are needed.

Boundaries as Self-Care

For me, boundaries are self-care. They remind me of what feels right in my body, my business, and my relationships. They create structure and safety, not from force, but from love.

When boundaries are in place, I don’t need to second-guess. I can feel what’s aligned and what’s not. And that clarity is something I return to often, especially in the Solar Plexus Chakra.

Located around the belly button, this Chakra holds our sense of self. It’s where we feel our personal power, our confidence, and our ability to lead from truth. It’s also where we hold fears. That’s why doing boundary work here is so transformative, it helps us claim who we are, both in life and in business.

Boundaries and Business Identity

As businesswomen, we’re constantly evolving. And with that evolution comes the need to define and redefine our identity. Who am I in business? What values do I lead with? What do I say yes to, and what’s a clear no?

Looking at other business owners can be helpful, not to compare, but to clarify. You might see something in someone else and think, “That feels aligned.” Or you might say, “That’s definitely not for me.” Both are valuable reflections. Both help you carve out your own path.

That discernment is part of the Solar Plexus Chakra work. It’s where self-worth, self-belief, and self-mastery begin to take shape. When you believe in yourself, you lead with more love and less fear. You show up with presence, but without needing to control everything.

You stop buying into sleazy, unaligned marketing. You stop chasing approval. And you start leading with compassion and truth.

Defining Who You Want to Work With

Not everyone is meant to be your client. That’s not a flaw, it’s a boundary.

There’s a metaphor I love from my time in healthcare. If you break your arm badly, who do you want treating you, a general surgeon, or an orthopedic surgeon who specialises in arms? That distinction matters. It’s the same in business. You’re not for everyone, and everyone is not for you.

When you define who you want to serve and why, you’re able to draw clearer boundaries around your offerings, your messaging, and your capacity. This doesn’t mean you can’t be flexible. It just means you’re not available for misalignment.

And you might find you have multiple “tribes.” That’s okay too. Your work may call different people at different times. The key is knowing when to say yes, and when to honour the no.

Setting Boundaries with How You Work

You don’t need to run your business like everyone else. And anyone who tells you “this is how it has to be done” is revealing their limitations, not yours.

I’ve worked with coaches who had strict frameworks, do one-on-one sessions until you’re booked out, then move into group programs. But that didn’t work for me. It exhausted me. And I knew I had to honour that.

Boundaries mean saying no to strategies that don’t align. They mean trusting your rhythm, your energy, your capacity. You don’t have to push yourself into burnout just because someone said it’s the “right way.” There is no one right way. There’s only what’s right for you.

Facing Fears from a Grounded Place

The Solar Plexus Chakra is also where many of our fears live. And when you start setting stronger boundaries, those fears can rise up. That’s normal. But you don’t need to bulldoze your way through them. You just need to meet them with presence.

I didn’t leap into video content with full confidence. I was scared. I had beliefs that said, “You’re vain if you take selfies. People will judge you.” I had to work through those stories first. I did the inner work, the energetic clearing, the trauma healing. Then, when I was ready, I started. And now? I love video. I love sharing. I love creating content that feels fully me.

That shift came because I didn’t force myself through fear. I honoured the timing. And I set boundaries to make it safe. I even created a private Facebook group just for me, where I could go live and practice. That was a boundary too.

Run Business Your Way

Your boundaries aren’t restrictions. They’re invitations. They’re how you protect your energy, honour your values, and show up with integrity. They’re how you build a business that feels like home.

So set the boundaries that support you. The ones that make space for your truth. The ones that let your Solar Plexus Chakra feel clear, strong, and steady. That’s where your power lives, not in proving or performing, but in trusting yourself to lead in the way only you can.
