Episode 128

Nurturing Self-Relationship Through The Root Base Chakra

Your relationship with yourself is one of the most important connections you’ll ever have, and it begins in the body. Deep in your energetic system, the Root Base Chakra holds the foundation for how safe, steady, and supported you feel, not just in life, but in every decision you make.

It influences how you connect to your body, how you care for your energy, and how you move through everyday choices. From physical health and emotional resilience to the courage it takes to honour your own needs, everything begins here, in the relationship you build with you.

Physical Health and Awareness

When your physical health is thriving, your relationship with yourself transforms. You feel strong. You feel more focused. You have more energy for joy and creativity.

For me, physical health also means being mindful about what I consume. I don’t crave chocolate or artificial sugar anymore. I’ve become very conscious about how sugar impacts my body, how it gives me a hit, then a crash. That crash disrupts everything: my business, my studies, my creativity, and even time with friends.

So now, I choose more consciously. If I do have sugar, I know why. I’m aware of what I’m doing and what my body needs.

The Energy Within You

Energy is just as important as health. I read recently about someone who thought she was running at 100%, but when she checked in more deeply, she realised she was only at 50%.

That really landed with me. Because when you take time to feel into your body, when you close your eyes and ask, “What are my energy levels right now?”,the answer is there. If you’re connected to your body, your emotions, and your intuition, you’ll get a response that’s aligned.

Not the “right” answer, but the aligned one.

Courage to Make Aligned Choices

Courage is also part of this root energy. Courage to make decisions that support your relationship with yourself. Courage to say no when something isn’t right for your body, even if it’s offered with love.

That courage might look like:

  • Choosing an activity that lights you up, whether that’s yoga, Pilates, or a daily walk.
  • Saying no to a food or drink that your body doesn’t want, while still honouring the person offering it.
  • Gently stepping outside your comfort zone, without causing trauma or overwhelm.

Because courage is growth. And when you step outside the comfort zone gently and with intention, your energy field expands with you.

Trusting Yourself

The relationship you have with yourself is built on trust. Trust to make aligned decisions. Trust that putting yourself first is not selfish, it’s essential.

When you put others first all the time, your energy drains. And once it’s depleted, it takes a long time to refill. That’s when resentment creeps in. You start thinking, “I did all that, and they didn’t even notice,” or, “Now I’m behind on what I needed to do.”

So instead, check in with your capacity. Say yes only when it feels spacious. And when the timing isn’t right, offer another option. That’s how you honour yourself and still care for the other person.

This is what healthy self-trust looks like. It’s not about rigid boundaries, it’s about aligned timing and loving communication.

Planning from Self-Awareness

Even in business, the relationship with yourself guides how you plan.

When you know your own energy rhythms, planning becomes intuitive. You know when you’re most focused. When you have capacity for clients. When your creative flow kicks in.

For me, that means:

  • Seeing clients during the day until around two o’clock, after that, I know I need space.
  • Creating content in the morning, because that’s when my creative energy is strongest.

And just as importantly, I know I can’t work on my business all the time. That’s not healthy for me, or for my business. Your business doesn’t want you running on empty. It wants you nourished, grounded, and present.

Final Reflections

This episode explored your relationship with yourself through the lens of the Root Base Chakra, focusing on physical health, energy, courage, and trust.

And while we touched lightly on business with purpose and planning, the deeper work always starts within. Because when your Root Base Chakra is steady, your whole foundation becomes stronger. You lead from alignment. You grow from truth. And that’s the kind of relationship with yourself that transforms everything.
