Episode 129

How The Root Base Chakra Can Support Our Relationship With Our Business

We don’t talk about our business as a relationship often enough. But that’s what it is. Your business isn’t just something you run, it’s something you’re in a relationship with. It has energy. It has personality. And if you created it from your soul, then you birthed it. That means the relationship matters. How you treat it. How you connect to it. How you support it.

In this piece, I explore the role of the Root Base Chakra in your relationship with the energy of your business, why courage, purpose, boundaries, and planning all tie into the base of who you are and how you lead.

The Courage to Begin

Courage is often overlooked in business conversations. We skip over it like it’s obvious, but starting a business takes real courage. It takes something deep and personal to go against the grain, to step away from the safety of a job or the expectations of others and say, “This is what I’m doing. I’m building something of my own.”

You needed courage to:

  • Choose your business name, whether it’s your own or something else that felt aligned
  • Open a Facebook or Instagram page and start putting yourself out there
  • Define your offers and services, knowing full well that not everyone would understand them
  • Share your message consistently, even when the response was quiet

That courage lives in your body. And it especially lives in the Root Base Chakra, the part of your energy system tied to safety, identity, and survival. When you honour that, you strengthen your foundation. You begin to embody your business, not just manage it.

Rooting Into Purpose

When you’re truly connected to your business, purpose is never far away. It lives in everything you do—sometimes spoken, sometimes unspoken. It shows up in the way you write, how you show up for clients, how you decide what to offer next.

The more present you are with your business, the clearer your purpose becomes. And your business begins to speak back. You’ll feel it guiding you, nudging you, supporting you.

That kind of connection doesn’t happen through constant action, it happens through care. Through consistency. Through listening.

When you put yourself first, your energy, your needs, your physical and emotional wellbeing, your business reflects that. It becomes stronger. And your purpose becomes something you live, not just talk about.

Emotions Will Come Up

The Root base Chakra is the seat of your emotions. And when you’re deeply connected to your business, those emotions surface.

You might put out incredible content, and no one responds. That hurts. You might hear people suggest you “get a real job” or go back to something more stable. That stings. And it takes courage to keep going anyway. To hold the vision even when the outside world hasn’t caught up yet.

This is why emotional regulation and self-compassion are so important. Not as strategies, but as anchors. Because your energy affects your relationship with your business. And when you support yourself through the emotional ups and downs, you also support your business through them.

Boundaries Create Safety

Boundaries are love. Not just in personal relationships, but in business too.

Without boundaries, you think about your business 24/7. You work on weekends. You feel guilty when you rest. That’s not a healthy relationship. That’s overfunctioning. And it leads to resentment, toward your business, your work, and even your clients.

Instead, create boundaries that support both of you. Maybe you only work Tuesday and Wednesday. Maybe your content creation happens in the morning, and after that, you step away. Whatever it looks like, let the boundary be yours.

When you set and honour your boundaries:

  • You reclaim time that’s just for you
  • You become more present with friends and family
  • You model healthy leadership for your clients and community

Your business doesn’t want to be with you 24/7. It wants its own time. And you deserve your own time too.

Planning From a Place of Relationship

Planning isn’t about controlling the future. It’s about co-creating with your business. Just like in any healthy relationship, you plan things. You talk things through. You check in.

Maybe you’re launching a new product or service. Maybe you’re thinking of starting a membership. Don’t just jump in and execute. Take time. Ask your business what it needs. Let it guide the timeline.

Sometimes, a launch might need four weeks. Sometimes it might need six months. If it’s a brand new offering, you may need time to test, adjust, and learn. You might want to run it with a few trusted clients first. Gather feedback. Make improvements. Then launch from a place of confidence and clarity.

Planning becomes powerful when it’s relational. When it honours your energy. When it honours your business’s evolution.

Final Reflections

You’re not just running a business. You’re in a relationship with it. And the more you root into that, through courage, purpose, boundaries, and planning, the more grounded, intentional, and fulfilling your journey becomes.

So tend to the Root Base Chakra. Come back to it often. And let that relationship be one of the most nourishing you ever create.
