Understanding The Difference Between Creating, Knowing & Manifesting – BDay Fun Day 7

This question came through in such a beautiful way, and it opened up something deeper than expected. At first glance, creating and knowing might seem connected, maybe even interchangeable. But when you pause, feel into it, and really explore, there’s a clear distinction. And manifesting adds a whole new layer.

For me, there are actually three different energies at play: creating, knowing, and manifesting. They can stand alone. They can weave together. But understanding their differences has helped me trust my process more fully, and honour each phase of it.

Creating Is a Deliberate Action

Creating is something you consciously do. It’s an intentional act. Whether you’re painting, writing a post, filming something, or building an offering, there’s a clear moment where you step in and say, “I’m creating this.”

It’s not something that floats in passively. It’s chosen. It has shape. It’s directed by you. And while your intuition might guide parts of the process—like which colours to use or which words to speak—the act itself is deliberate.

That’s what I love about it. It’s active. It’s sacred. It’s a way of co-creating with energy. I can look at a blank canvas and say, “What colours want to come through?”, and as the answer arrives, I take action. That’s where creating and knowing can meet, but the act of creating still requires me to show up and move with intention.

Knowing Is Instant

Knowing is different. It doesn’t require movement. It doesn’t come from effort. It just drops in.

There’s no needing to create space for it. It arrives on its own. One moment, I didn’t know. And the next, I did.

I’ve spent years strengthening this gift. I’ve done a lot of deep inner work so that my intuitive knowing flows easily now. But even in the beginning, I could feel the difference. Knowing doesn’t ask. It doesn’t argue. It just lands.

There’s a purity to it. A truth. A frequency that is unmistakable.

When I knew a room was mine, I didn’t need to question it. Even though other people were looking at it, even though we’re in a housing crisis, I just knew. That knowing was instant. Clear. Done.

Manifesting Is a Process

Manifesting is different again. It’s not a moment, it’s a process. It’s the string of actions, thoughts, and energy shifts that lead you toward something you’re calling in.

You create space. You take aligned action. You release attachment. And over time, you manifest.

There’s no single “right” process for manifesting. We all have our own unique ways. What matters is that it works for you, that it supports your energy, your timing, your truth.

I’ve learned through experience that emotional detachment is key. People often say, “Put all your emotions into it.” But I’ve found that when I get emotionally attached to an outcome, it blocks the manifestation. The attachment creates constriction.

But when I stay grounded, clear, and detached, miracles happen. Like when I manifested the room I’m living in now. I walked in and instantly knew it was mine. I claimed it without attachment. And the next morning, I got the confirmation email: the room was mine.

These Energies Can Work Together, Or Separately

The beauty of these three energies, creating, knowing, and manifesting, is that they don’t have to happen all at once. Sometimes you’ll be creating without a deep knowing. Sometimes you’ll know something before you’ve done anything to bring it into form. And sometimes you’ll be in the thick of a manifestation process without either.

They can overlap, but they don’t need to.

Here’s how I feel into them:

  • Creating is a beautiful, deliberate act of bringing something into form, like a painting, a post, or a poem.
  • Knowing is an intuitive arrival. It’s instant. You don’t need to think about it, you just know.
  • Manifesting is the process you move through to call something in. It includes belief, energy, and aligned action.

Sometimes I’ll know I’ve manifested something before it fully arrives. I’ll feel it. I’ll sense it. But that’s still different from the knowing that drops in without warning or effort.

Final Reflections

Understanding the difference between creating, knowing, and manifesting has helped me honour my gifts in a deeper way. It’s helped me recognise when I’m in action, when I’m in reception, and when I’m in process.

There’s no hierarchy. They all hold power. What matters is that you learn to feel which one you’re in, and trust it.

Your knowing is real. Your creations are sacred. Your manifestations are already unfolding.
