Some conversations don’t just land, they shift something in your body. This one was like that. A beautiful and grounded exchange with Janice Muir, who carries deep awareness, spiritual wisdom, and the kind of energy that lights up a room without even trying.
We spoke about connection. About awareness. And how both are needed—not just to feel more whole, but to navigate life and business with clarity and intention. Janice shared her personal journey, her insights, and the everyday practices that have shaped how she connects to Source, to herself, and to the work she’s here to do.
What came through most strongly was this: we’re not just here to show up. We’re here to awaken. And that awakening happens through the way we listen, ask, feel, and move with what’s true.

Awareness and Connection Are a Living Loop
We started by exploring which comes first, awareness or connection. And the truth is, both are always dancing together. Sometimes we awaken through awareness. Other times, we remember through connection.
Janice shared how, for her, connection had to come first. After experiencing trauma, she had disconnected from her body. It was only through reconnecting to herself, physically, emotionally, and energetically, that true awareness began to unfold. That awareness wasn’t something she read about. It lived in her body. And through that, she began sharing what she called “awareness awakening.”
Awareness is understanding that your inner world isn’t the same as someone else’s. We all walk with our own maps, shaped by memory, experience, and belief. And when we begin to honour those maps without trying to make them the same, we begin to understand each other more deeply.
Janice beautifully described it as a cycle:
- Connect to your own body and energy first
- Let that connection bring awareness
- Use that awareness to deepen your connection with others
- And repeat, again and again, in every new season of life
It’s never static. It’s always in motion. And the more we honour that motion, the more we soften into trust.
Asking Better Questions
One of Janice’s core teachings is that questions are the key to everything. It’s the questions we ask that shape the answers we receive, not just from others, but from ourselves, from Source, from life itself.
When she began writing her first book, she didn’t start with a clear plan. She started with a question: What’s the next thing I can do to move forward? And she asked that question again and again, until one day, on a crowded bus after work, the entire structure of her book landed. Chapters. Sections. Flow. It all arrived because she had been asking.
And even then, she didn’t rush to capture it. She let the message hold itself inside her until she had space to write. She honoured the transmission as something sacred.
That moment taught her something powerful: the energy of receiving doesn’t always come when you want it, but it comes when you’re open. And the only way to stay open is to keep asking.
Working With Source in Everyday Life
Connection to Source doesn’t always look like prayer or ritual. Sometimes it’s as simple as speaking to the light above your head. Or pausing to listen when something feels off. Janice spoke of the practice she developed over time, listening to her own knowing, letting herself be guided, even when it didn’t make sense at first.
She also shared a metaphor that speaks volumes: when we grow up, we often internalise beliefs in segmented ways. It’s like having electric fences around parts of ourselves, some areas are allowed, others feel blocked. And even when we have awareness and knowledge, it can take time to bring that knowing into action. Especially in business.
But awareness is still powerful. Because once you know something is there, you can begin to work with it. And that’s where change starts.
Cancel, Cancel, Cancel: A Tool for Letting Go
One of the most practical, surprising insights Janice offered was the use of the word “cancel” as a tool for reprogramming thought patterns. When a disempowering thought arises, instead of letting it spiral, she says: cancel, cancel, cancel, and physically pushes the energy away.
It’s a tool she picked up from subconscious mind work, and she’s tested it herself. She shared that when used with intention, this practice has helped her let go of thoughts she no longer wants to carry.
What matters most is this: we’re not taught how to release negativity. We’re taught to think through it, to suppress it, or to ignore it. But letting go is a muscle. And sometimes the simplest tools can become the most powerful.
Final Reflections
Janice reminded us that it’s not about doing everything right. It’s about being open. Being willing to ask. Willing to connect. Willing to listen to what’s real, not just what’s easy.
Awareness and connection don’t happen once. They happen in layers, in spirals, in soft moments when we least expect them. And in business, they are just as important as any strategy or system. They are the foundation of trust, of creativity, of soul-led success.
